MEET MOHAMED OMAR

About the Councilmember

Mohamed Omar is a Grove City Councilmember proudly serving Ward 5 and working to build a stronger, more connected community through leadership, advocacy, and resident engagement.

Why I Chose to Serve Ward 5

"As a lifelong advocate for community engagement and opportunity, I ran for Grove City Council to ensure every resident in Ward 5 has a voice at the table. I believe leadership starts with listening, showing up, and working directly with residents to address the issues impacting our neighborhoods every day.

As the first Somali American elected official in Grove City and one of the youngest councilmembers in our city’s history, I am committed to bringing fresh perspectives, transparency, and community-centered leadership to local government. My focus remains on strengthening neighborhoods, supporting local businesses, increasing community engagement, and building a Grove City where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and heard."

Real leadership starts with listening to the people, showing up for the community, and working together to create meaningful change for Ward 5.
